The club’s 2020 private owner commission sees a wagon of the Swansea & District Railway Men’s [sic] Direct Coal Association in its attractive chocolate-brown livery with black strapping and white-shaded-black lettering. As usual, the commission is available in three gauges and, at the time of writing, it is selling well.

The Association was a form of co-operative enterprise which purchased house coal for railwaymen at more advantageous terms than they could obtain from a coal merchant. These associations, a number of which were associated with both the Co-Operative Society and the Labour Party, existed in many areas and wagons representing those have been issued by manufacturers before. This Swansea edition is the first release representing this area however.
