The13th of December saw our inaugural “mini modelling competition”. The challenge: take a cheap Chinese mass-produced model tree and modify it into something far more realistic and appealing, something worthy of being used on a model railway.
We were pleased to see no fewer than 8 entries, all with their own unique approach. From the Cherry Blossoms of Spring to the red leaves of Autumn, they were all spectacular!
1st place went to Eileen Grigg for her “cats under the Cherry Blossom” (number 4), a very unique take on the challenge with her son Richard Grigg having the second highest number of votes for his “Tree by the Line” (number 3).
A big thank you to Simon Durrer for organising the competition and suppling the prize, we are already looking forward to the next one as well as 2019’s Modelling Competition [which Simon has now agreed to take the management of].
